Gathered Thoughts

It’s that time again to start planning and this year for my home management and family life , I chose the @the_happy_planner @disney planner✨
.
I am loving the layout and the beautiful dividers for the month. Since this planner will be mostly laid open on my counter all day every day, I knew I wanted it to be pretty to look at so I would want to actively use it.
.
Oh and did I mention that it might give off the slightest princess vibe? Ok it TOTALLY gives it off and with so much of this world trying to tell us what we aren’t it is such a sweet reminder that we are Princesses and it reminds me of my identity in Christ and how He sees me.. as a princess! So yes I’ll take that any day💜

Gathered thoughts

Gathered Thoughts

There are so many pieces of our homeschool year that are coming to an end . Some of them we are so ready for and others bring tears .

.

This  year started out with all its uncertainty and some of these pieces came together out of not really knowing how they would work or fit into our year.

.

We joined a pod with a few other families, I taught Math via online to two students, I taught my littles .. All their classes.. ( except highschool biology ), and I taught an American Girl Doll History class . Each of these brought joy and fun in unexpected ways to our family this year. They kept us moving forward and created friendships that will be lifelong.

.

As many of these come to an end this week , I am thankful and humbled.This year can’t be repeated, it is a unique one of a kind year and I’m so thankful for getting to create those wonderful memories!

.

We are however, so excited to be done with Math and our other studies and looking forward to lazy summer days of reading and meeting up with friends .

.

How was your year? Did you try something new ? I would love to hear from you .. Let me know in the comments below❤️

Disney Good Neighbor Hotel, Disneyland, Hotel, Review, travel

Best Western Plus Park Place Inn~Disneyland Good Neighbor Hotel

We recently stayed at the @bestwestern in Anaheim called the Best Western Plus Park Place Inn.It is one of Disneyland’s “Good Neighbor” Hotels.
.
One of the first things we loved was the sticker on the door certifying it was clean and ready .
.
Upon entering , we were pleasantly surprised. Since our last stay a few years ago the rooms had been remodeled and had a nice clean, crisp feel.
.
The rooms come with a good size fridge and with a coffee maker and supplies .
.
Some of the things we really loved were the door between our two rooms that we could open to go back and forth. The beds and couch were comfortable and we all woke up feeling refreshed .
.
Oh and this hotel is directly across from @disneyland!!!That is an amazing perk of staying at this property.
.
There is also a bagged breakfast to go that included a pastry, orange and bottled water you can pick up as you walk to the park.
.
The price point was great as well! We paid less then a 100$ a night off season but with the parks opened now the prices can range. We would stay here again if the price was under $200.It’s a great value for the location and room and it easily fits a family of 5 or larger with the connecting door between the rooms✨

Disneyland budget

Disneyland budget 2019

Kicking off the start of a new week with some money saving tips to help you plan your Disney Vacation. Do you make a budget or just pay as you go when you plan a vacation? We have done both and over the years we have learned that having a budget is a great tool to give us freedom to purchase what we like without the guilt of are we overspending. It cuts down on the impulse buys and makes us really consider what we are buying. Plus it cuts down on financial stress between my husband & I because we both have a clear picture of what the plan is.
Today I’m going to share my budget with you for our last trip to Disney.Let us know what you think.

Disneyland May/June 2019

Budget $6000 for a family of 5
8 days total and this total includes our day trip to Universal.

Airfare roundtrip for 5=$750

Homewood Suites for 7nights /8 days- $1250 Airport parking-$75/8 days
Airport transfer to hotel-$69
Airport transfer to airport-$70

5 day park hoppers 2/ kids & 1/adult-$1029

4 days of maxpass@$15 a day/3=$180

Annual pass 2/adults-paid for last trip -0$

Food budget $75 for 2 meals a day=$150 x 8 days=$1200

Spending budget for snacks/souvenirs=$50 per person= $250

Universal trip

Universal 1 day tickets /3 adults /2 kids-$548

Transportation to universal-$170

This puts us @ $5,591. We allow the rest for a buffer zone to add in tips and anything we may have forgotten.

Lets start with Park Tickets.

Disney raises their prices each year so we wanted to catch them before they did for 2019. Here’s the breakdown..

Current price 5 day hopper
$395 {10 & above}
$375 {3-9}

We bought our tickets through #getawaytoday and purchased a 5 day hopper {prices have changed}
$355 {10 and above}
$337 {3-9} we bought 2 of these

Total we saved $116
That’s about a 10% savings!

Here is one of the simplest ways we saved on our food and souvenirs for #disney

Before our trip, we went to target to pick up Disney gift cards for the trip. I purchased $1450 in gift cards and saved $72.50 by using my target red card and saving 5%. We then used the gift cards to pay for everything from food/ snacks to souvenirs. The only draw back is you are walking around with lots of gift cards. A solution that worked for us was to number the gift cards and take pics of the codes so we could keep track of them and if we did lose one we could call and cancel it.We also used our Annualpass discount every time we purchased which gave us another savings on top of the gift cards.. it really does all add up!

Do you have any favorite ways of saving? Share them with us!
