Happy International Women’s Day

On our recent visit to Washington DC we took a picture of this memorial of those women that served in the Vietnam War. Today seems to be the perfect day to celebrate them . May we always remember❤️

I am so thankful for the Women who have left a legacy of honor . Those that have sacrificed their safety and taken jobs to protect our country. Those that have been the anchor beside their husband. Those that are daily doing their best to be the very best they can be.

Here’s to you sweet sister whoever and wherever you are. You are unique and there is no one else like you. Happy International Women’s Day❤️

American Girl Doll History~McKenna Brooks

What better doll to start with on our new doll lineup then McKenna Brooks. She is from Seattle , Washington and dreams of being a gold medalist on the Olympic team . She loves gymnastics but really struggles with reading . As her story unfolds , she is teamed up with a tutor, Josie. As her friendship develops with Josie, we see McKenna grow in maturity and we see how they both help each other in their friendship .. so good!
.
We also learned about the history of the Olympics and gymnastics.
.
We added our sticker to Washington State for the geography of where Mckenna lived .
.
Our craft for Mckenna was a balance beam for our dolls. This was such a fun project ! We started by wrapping the beams in colorful duct tape. Some of the students decided to leave them unwrapped so their friends could sign them. The students also had the opportunity to hammer their legs onto their balance beam.Thankfully no one hammered their fingers .

.
Our Tea party was the highlight! We had Oreo cookie medallions .. Yumm! And Cheeto torches made out of icecream cones. So cute!

.

And we had lots of opportunities to shop! The students earned class money from doing homework pages . I have attached them below ⬇️

Frankenstein Math

We made these adorable Frankensteins for our Fall party this past week 🍁
.
How cute are these???
.
The littles each had their own dice to roll and as they rolled their number it determined what to glue onto their Frankenstein

.
This was the perfect game for the party .It was so fun to see how they all made their Frankensteins their own by putting the hair up to be spiked or the scar on the cheek .. they had fun being creative and they were all unique

.
I found this cute idea from
@housingaforest ❤️She has lots of other fun ideas on her website including this one

Leaf Graphing

Leaf Graphing 🍁
.
We had so much fun doing this! The littles were able to get outside and search for leaves 🍃 The colors this time of year are so beautiful! They found leaves of all shapes and sizes which added to the fun

.
We then went in and dried them off and then sorted them.

.
It was a fun way to enjoy the season as we did math 🍁

.
The free printable is from @lifeovercs so head over there and check them out ❤️
