Stack the spider was a fun dice game we played for math.๐ท .
The little’s competed rolling the dice and seeing who could get the most spiders or bats on their straw before we ran out or the straw was full. . It was fun to see how competitive they were and how fast they stacked them…perfect game for fall๐

Play-doh is so much fun for my little to play with and easily provides an hour or so quiet time for me when .. win for both of us! . So I decided to take it up a notch and add some play-doh ( I also found sparkle play-doh โจ ) and some fun things to mix in and create with like eyeballs, pipe cleaners, buttons, spiders, bats and jewels
. It turned out so cute! My daughter had a friend over and they played with the kits making all kinds of creations. Ofcourse ,the sparkly jewels and glitter play-doh was their favorites โค๏ธAnd I caught the older kids stopping by to watch them and I think secretly wanting to play with it themselves ๐
Here are some of the resources to create your own ..The box to store it is different then the one we used but looks like it would still work and maybe even for travel. When you click on our links below,we receive a portion of your sale..thank you for supporting our blog๐
We made these adorable Frankensteins for our Fall party this past week ๐ . How cute are these??? . The littles each had their own dice to roll and as they rolled their number it determined what to glue onto their Frankenstein
. This was the perfect game for the party .It was so fun to see how they all made their Frankensteins their own by putting the hair up to be spiked or the scar on the cheek .. they had fun being creative and they were all unique
. I found this cute idea from @housingaforest โค๏ธShe has lots of other fun ideas on her website including this one
Leaf Graphing ๐ . We had so much fun doing this! The littles were able to get outside and search for leaves ๐ The colors this time of year are so beautiful! They found leaves of all shapes and sizes which added to the fun
. We then went in and dried them off and then sorted them.
. It was a fun way to enjoy the season as we did math ๐
. The free printable is from @lifeovercs so head over there and check them out โค๏ธ
Who knew that candy corn made the perfect greater or less than symbol for math๐ . It such a fun way to teach math when you can incorporate some fall fun into the lesson plan๐

Recently ,we had the opportunity to learn about Felicity Merriman for our American Girl Doll History Class. . It was so fun going back in time to Williamsburg, Va and taking a peek inside Colonial living and what it would have been like living in Felicitys time. . We jumped right in and started with making our butter and our spiced almonds.
. The butter took lots and lots of shaking the heavy cream .. then letting it sit and then shaking throughout which gave us two products, A cream to use with our scones and then shaking some more produced the butter.
. We also worked on coating the almonds in between the butter so we rotated everyone through to have a chance to make the spiced nuts.
. While the spiced nuts cooked, we sat down to have our tea party . We enjoyed scones with raspberry compote( our version of the raspberry flummery) and the cream from our shaking. We also enjoyed Felicityโs Liberty Tea which is actually red Raspberry leaf tea without any added sweeteners. We also talked about proper tea service and table setting , something Felicity would have learned at her Tea lessons. Itโs fun seeing how these simple traditions are carried through time. .
Below are some helpful links, the recipes, printables , books and activities,I used in classโญ๏ธ
We recently learned about Kirsten for our American Girl History class. . @americangirlbrand Kirsten series is a wonderful story with historical roots . Her story starts as a family immigrating from Sweden and gives you glimpses of what it was like to be on board a boat headed for America. . It was a wonderful read with some hard parts of loss and what is was like in that time era. . Our Tea Party was pioneer themed. We had heart shaped cakes , cheese and crackers.
The heart shaped cakes were based on the Little House on the Prairie and the heart shaped cakes that Laura received in her stocking. The pioneers treasured flour and sugar and so it was a fun way to incorporate this treat into the Kirsten Tea Party. . While the girls enjoyed their treats and tea, we shared our favorite moments from the books. . We then played a fun bingo with vocabulary words on the bingo sheet that were from the books. This was a fun part that really helped reinforce what they had learned and it gave the girls a chance to earn class money to use in the class store. . The girls also had the opportunity to learn to sew. They made aprons to match their dolls. This was the perfect craft for this time era since aprons were such a big part of the pioneers and their daily lives.
We then finished up by ๐ shopping. The girls had the opportunity to use the money they had earned to buy items for their dolls โค๏ธ .
I am attaching some of the printables and the links we used for this class below. I hope you find it helpfulโค๏ธ
